Interesting list. Many of the books you have listed are great sources for information about developing business strategy. I recently read Geoffrey Moore's Crossing the Chasm, for example. Moore is obviously brilliant. He does a great job of describing and illustrating various companies that have indeed crossed the chasm. But I was a bit disappointed in his explanation about HOW EXACTLY a company crosses the chasm.

You'd like David Abshire's A CALL TO GREATNESS, by the way. It's a great read on political strategy (approx. 70 pp) that can easily be adapted in the context of business strategy.

Keep up the good work!

Absolutely! Pre-publishing an agenda is a great way to get the creative juices flowing even before the meeting begins. It gives attendees a chance to review the expected discussion topics and offer suggestions for improvement. A kin to this should be the delegation of responsibilities that will make the meeting progress more smoothly. Great insights!

Hi Jeroen,
Thanks for the post... I started a discussion last week on Social Media and the Mobile Enterprise at the Mobile Strategy Blog (http://m-strat.org) ... but after seeing your post here as well as some other information you have here I will try and write a follow up... I would also like to hear your comments on the impacts of a product like Yammer on mobile workers... Good? Bad? Neutral?

The actual post is entitled: Enterprise Mobility, Social Networks and the End of Email and you can find it here - http://m-strat.org/enterprise-mobility-social-networks-and-the-end-of-email/

Thanks again.
Regards,
Jose

Engaging customers in a service community using web2.0 technology does provide compelling benefits. My company, Helpstream, takes this two steps further by providing a knowledge base to capture re-usable content from the community and then integrating community with customer service workflow so customers have an agent-assisted resolution path when self-service fails to address their needs. Helpstream also provides tailorable user profiles and a mechanism to establish the level of end user expertise, so other users have a way to determine how much credibility they are willing to ascribe to comments or suggestions. It's the difference between wondering around a faceless crowd asking for directions versus networking with people you come to know and trust for reliable information.

Wow. Nice list. I think the business potential for a business micro-blogging is good.

One thing I do get hung up on is the value to noise ratio in micro blogging. In a business environment where there is less time for "chit chat", will this be a problem? I guess we will see.

Great post, especially the part about (business) benefits. One aspect which makes twitter great for me, especially on a mobile platform, is the obligation to limit your "twit" to 140 positions. This makes its fast and sharp. I hope it will quickly reach our enterprise/government environment, also in the netherlands.

It's a really splendid book - I just finished it myself. In fact, I'm sat here thinking of creating a series of pictures to illustrate "the main problems in small business" when I came across your blog entry while researching!

Thanks for the video of Dan talking about the technique - it's brilliant. I am definitely the "black pen" person, which are you?

Cheers!
